Thank you for your interest in the Research Room. We currently provide access to archives, museum archive records, printed material, photographs, sound recordings and e-resources.

• We are open Tuesday to Fridays between 10am and 4:30pm. Regrettably we are unable to take group bookings.
• OurCollections Search will enable you to identify the material you would like to see. You may order up to 10 separate items. Please ensure you indicate your required material on the Booking Request, otherwise we will be unable to book your appointment.
• Microfilm material, including the War Artists Archive (WAA), is available for consultation. However, if you require access to the originals in the WAA, please contact us at researchroom@iwm.org.uk and we will consider your request on a case-by-case basis.
• IWM staff will contact you to confirm your booking. Please do not make travel plans until you hear from us.
• To amend or cancel an existing request, or make any other enquiry, pleasecontact us stating the request reference if you have one.
• If you wish to view 3D objects or artwork please email us at researchroom@iwm.org.uk. Requests must be made at least 10 working days in advance. If we can accommodate your request, we will offer an appointment on a Monday.
